At Waterbury Hospital, we make a promise to our patients—to keep them at the center of everything that we do. We fulfill that promise every day to every patient. And, we also deliver on that promise to our community by providing world class care to all those living in the Greater Waterbury region.

We offer primary, preventive care and services in locations throughout our community.   Our Emergency Department is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week, 365 days a year, including a Level II Trauma Center. Our Center for Surgical Innovation, Orthopaedics Surgery Center, and Cardiology services offer state-of-the-art, lifesaving treatments and procedures to help our patients recover quickly and get back to their lives.   The Family Birthing Center at Waterbury Hospital welcomes more than 1,000 babies each year, and our Special Care Unit takes care of the tiniest babies who need extra support.

Through the Greater Waterbury Health Network, which includes Waterbury Hospital, we offer a full range of healthcare services from primary care to home care and everything in between.

Our world class care is continually recognized by a variety of national organizations.   Waterbury Hospital was recognized by U.S. News and World Report in 2015 as a Best Regional Hospital and a High Performing Hospital in knee and hip replacement. In recognition of our excellence in pulmonary care, we received the Healthgrades 2015 Pulmonary Care Excellence Award™ and we were named Among the Top 10% in the Nation for Overall Pulmonary Services in 2015. Waterbury Hospital’s stroke program has been recognized by the American Heart Association/American Stroke Association.   And, Waterbury Hospital was recognized as one of the Most Wired hospitals and health systems in the country by the American Hospital Association’s Hospitals & Health Networks magazine.
