Located at 88 Grandview, the Center for Geropsychiatry provides comprehensive ambulatory services and treatment to individuals age 55 and older or to individuals who are prematurely facing issues related to later life. A multidisciplinary team of caring professionals works collaboratively to provide treatment designed to meet the specific needs of older adults who present with a variety of emotional and psychiatric disorders.
Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP)
The Intensive Outpatient Program is designed to assist individuals and their families and/or significant others in the resolution of identified psychiatric or emotional disorders. Designed with the older adult in mind, these programs provide comprehensive diagnostic assessment and treatment. The IOP is recommended for those individuals who do not require the intensity of a partial hospital program, but for whom weekly outpatient services are inadequate. Flexible treatment times are available.
A variety of ambulatory services are offered, including:
- Psycho-diagnostic assessment
- Individual, group and family therapy
- Medication evaluation and monitoring
- Support and education for family members
- Dementia assessments
- Psychological testing
- Collaboration with primary care physicians and other care providers
- Flexible hours to meet individual client needs
