GREATER WATERBURY HEALTH NETWORK WELCOMES NEW CARDIOLOGIST
Arslan Johnghar, MD, Joins Cardiology Associates of Greater Waterbury
Arslan Johnghar, MD, has joined Cardiology Associates of Greater Waterbury, an affiliate of the Greater Waterbury Health Network.
Dr. Johnghar is Board Certified in Internal Medicine, Echocardiography and Nuclear Medicine. He is also certified in Cardiovascular Ultrasound. Dr. Johnghar completed a fellowship in cardiology and a residency in internal medicine at Brown University in Rhode Island.
Dr. Johnghar received his medical degree from the Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School in New Jersey.
Dr. Johnghar said the one thing that drew him to medicine and to cardiology, in particular, is “getting to talk to people.”
“My role is to take them as a whole person, with their backgrounds, religious beliefs, and life stories,” Dr. Johnghar said. His interest in cardiology includes a focus on managing acute, chronic heart failure.
Waterbury Hospital and Greater Waterbury Health Network Interim CEO Lester P. Schindel welcomed Dr. Johnghar.
“Dr. Johnghar joins an impressive group of highly trained cardiologists providing the highest quality cardiac care throughout our network,” said Schindel.
A native of China, Dr. Johnghar, came to the United States as a child and grew up in New Jersey. He lives on a farm in Bethany with his wife Erin, also a physician.
