eMedicine  provides unlimited online access to the world's most comprehensive clinical knowledge base in the format of a PDA book. This site is full of search capabilities for articles and multimedia.  In addition, it also offers an abundance of informative newsletters and case study emails.  Also, don’t forget to take advantage of eMedicine’s FREE interactive continuing medical education.  Note: Please don't confuse this site with www.iMedicine.com, a subscription site for institutions.

GeneTests providing current, authoritative information on genetic testing and its use in diagnosis, management, and genetic counseling, GeneTests promotes the appropriate use of genetic services in patient care and personal decision making.

iCONN-Connecticut’s Digital Library  iConn is free to Connecticut residents. "Search thousands of popular and scholarly articles including newspapers, business information, health and wellness information and much more. Also includes reQuest which is a database containing the book and journal holdings of most libraries in Connecticut. (To access from home you will need to type in the barcode number from your public library card.)


MSDS Sheets/Hazardous Substances Data Bank  National Library of Medicine  (NLM) creates information resources and services in toxicology, environmental health, chemistry, and HIV/AIDS. Another component of SIS, the Office of Outreach and Special Populations , seeks to improve access to quality and accurate health information by underserved and special populations.

Medline from Ovid    
is a database that includes over 16 million citations from biomedical journals. It is the same material that is available in PubMed. (ID and Password required)

Medline (PubMed)
PuMed is a free database that is produced by the National Library of Medicine. It can be used from any place where a computer has access to the internet.

NLM Gateway  is a Web-based system that lets users search simultaneously in multiple retrieval systems at the U.S. National Library of Medicine (NLM). It provides "one-stop searching" for many of NLM's information resources or databases.

Jablonski is a Multiple Congenital Anomaly/Mental Retardation (MCA/MR) Syndromes Database produced by National Library of Medicine.

MedicalStudent.com   a digital library of authoritative medical information for all students of medicine.

OMIM   Online Mendelian Inheritance in Man. This database is a catalog of human genes and genetic disorders produced by Johns Hopkins and elsewhere, and developed for the World Wide Web by NCBI, the National Center for Biotechnology Information.

Plasma Proteome Database from Johns Hopkins University - has a comprehensive listing of blood proteins. 

Public Health Image Library   offers an organized, universal electronic gateway to Centers for Disease Control and Prevention's pictures. The public health professionals, the media, laboratory scientists, educators, students, and the public are welcome to use this material for reference, teaching, presentation, and public health messages. The content is organized into hierarchical categories of people, places, and science, and is presented as single images, image sets, and multimedia files.
