If a fracture is unstable or affects joint alignment, surgery may provide the best opportunity for restoring normal anatomy and helping the patient return to peak performance. Our goal is always the same: restore function while minimizing the risk of arthritis, stiffness, or long-term weakness.

A structured therapy program helps patients safely restore mobility while reducing stiffness and rebuilding strength. For athletes, returning too quickly can increase the risk of reinjury. For everyone else, returning too late or skipping rehabilitation can result in lingering pain and decreased function.

While we can't prevent every accident, we can reduce the risk of serious injury by:
- Wearing appropriate protective equipment during sports
- Strengthening the muscles of the forearm and hand
- Using proper technique during athletic activities
- Seeking prompt evaluation after a significant impact or fall
- Avoiding the temptation to "play through" persistent wrist pain
Early diagnosis often leads to simpler treatment and better long-term outcomes
