UConn-Waterbury Internal Medicine Residency
About Our Program
Waterbury Hospital serves as the primary site of a UConn-sponsored internal medicine training program.
The residency curriculum, implemented by talented residents and faculty hailing from a diverse set of backgrounds, also includes the extensive resources and collegial environment of the University of Connecticut School of Medicine. Residents can partake in rotations at UConn. We offer our residents exceptional clinical, leadership, and research.
Thank you for your interest in our program and look forward to sharing more about our community. Please do not hesitate to contact us with any questions.
Our Mission
The goal of the UConn Waterbury Internal Medicine Residency Program is to train excellent internists who derive joy and purpose from the care of patients and the pursuit of life-long learning in an increasingly complex healthcare system. Our program provides a diverse community of residents and core faculty dedicated to teaching in a nurturing training environment. Residents experience a wide range of educational opportunities including the option of elective rotations at our sponsoring institution, University of Connecticut. We aspire to advance the health of our patients in the Waterbury community through our service, and we focus on a spirit of collegiality and kindness that puts the individual first.
