Designed to meet the needs of both patients and referring providers, the Center combines convenience, accessibility, and subspecialty expertise under one roof. By providing a dedicated location for musculoskeletal services, the Orthopedic Center is helping reduce barriers to treatment, improve patient satisfaction, and strengthen Waterbury Hospital’s role as a leader in orthopedic care.
Access and Convenience
One of the greatest strengths of the Orthopedic Center is its accessibility. The Center:
- Accepts Medicaid and the uninsured, ensuring that patients across the community, regardless of coverage, have access to high-quality orthopedic care
- Operates on Mondays from 8 am - 11:30 am, with dedicated staff available to streamline patient flow and minimize wait times
- Offers a simple referral pathway for providers to ensure their patients are scheduled promptly for evaluation and follow-up
This model was designed to break down barriers to care, making it easier for patients to receive timely evaluations and access to specialty treatment.
Comprehensive Services Offered
The Orthopedic Center provides a full spectrum of musculoskeletal services, including:
- Sports Medicine: Expert care for athletes of all ages with injuries ranging from sprains and ligament tears to overuse conditions
- Fracture Management: From acute injury assessment to follow-up care, patients receive coordinated trauma services
- Joint Replacements: Evaluation and surgical consultation for patients considering hip, knee, and shoulder arthroplasty
- Rehabilitation Partnerships: Direct coordination with physical and occupational therapy to support recovery and optimize outcomes
This breadth of services means patients can be seen, diagnosed, and treated without needing to leave the community—improving continuity of care and ensuring stronger outcomes.
